The Commission disclosed that the interruptions, which have impacted subscribers’ experience in the Federal Capital Territory, were primarily triggered by shortages in diesel supply to IHS Nigeria Limited, a colocation provider responsible for powering Airtel and MTN base stations in affected areas.

According to NCC, the supply disruptions stemmed from actions by the National Oil and Gas Suppliers Association (NOGASA), leading to service outages across parts of Abuja.

“We are aware of the challenges subscribers are facing in Abuja due to diesel supply constraints.

“The Commission is engaging with licensees, colocation providers, and fuel suppliers to ensure swift restoration of services,” NCC stated.

The Commission explained that it has initiated dialogue between service providers and stakeholders to resolve the bottlenecks, while also exploring sustainable solutions to prevent future disruptions.

NCC reaffirmed its commitment to seamless communication services across Nigeria, noting that it would continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates to the public on restoration efforts.
