The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that certificates for candidates who sat the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates are now available through its Digital Certificate Platform.
The examination body announced the development on Friday through its official X account, urging candidates to access their certificates online.
“The 2026 WASSCE for School Candidate Certificate is now available for access on the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform,” WAEC stated.
Candidates can view, download and share their certificates through the digital platform on the official WAEC website or via the WAEC Digital Certificate mobile application.
The platform provides two main services: Certificate Access, which allows candidates to view, download and share their certificates, and Certificate Confirmation, which enables institutions and organisations to verify certificates.
How to Get Your 2026 WAEC Certificate Online
Candidates who want to access their 2026 WASSCE certificates should follow these steps:
- Visit the official WAEC website and open the Digital Certificate Platform.
- Select Certificate Access.
- Enter the required examination and identification details.
- Complete the verification process, including OTP authentication where applicable.
- View the digital certificate once verification is completed.
- Download and save the certificate securely.
- Share the digital certificate with schools, employers or other institutions when required.
WAEC also advised candidates to use its official Digital Certificate mobile application, which is available on the Google Play Store.
It is important to note that the Digital Certificate Platform is different from the WAEC result-checking portal. Candidates use the result-checking portal to check their examination results, while the Digital Certificate Platform provides access to their official certificates.
The announcement follows the release of the 2026 WASSCE for School Candidates results.
According to WAEC, a total of 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination, while 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent, obtained credits and above in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
The 2026 WASSCE was conducted between April 21 and June 19, 2026, with candidates participating from more than 24,200 secondary schools.
Candidates who need their certificates for admission, employment, scholarship applications or other official purposes can now use the WAEC Digital Certificate Platform to access and share their credentials electronically.
