OAIC Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Re-election

The Organisation of African Instituted Churches, Nigeria Region, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election for a second term.

In a congratulatory letter dated August 16 and signed by the Regional Secretary, Snr. Ap. Joe O. Okoh, on behalf of the Regional President, HME Elder Israel Akinadewo FCA, PhD, the organisation described Adeleke’s victory as well-deserved.

The OAIC said the election result reflected the confidence and trust the people of Osun State had placed in Adeleke’s leadership and administration.

It urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to consolidate the achievements of his first term while advancing peace, unity, welfare and socio-economic development across the state.

The organisation, which described itself as an indigenous Christian body committed to peace, justice, good governance and national wellbeing, said it joined Adeleke’s family, government and the people of Osun State in celebrating his electoral victory.

The OAIC also prayed for divine wisdom, good health, courage and discernment for Adeleke as he prepares to begin his second term.

It expressed hope that the governor’s renewed tenure would bring greater development, prosperity, peace and progress to the people of Osun State, regardless of their political, religious or other affiliations.

Adeleke won the August 15, 2026, Osun governorship election and was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday.

The Accord Party candidate polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who scored 444,815 votes.

The result gave Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress came third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji secured victory in 11.

Although 15 candidates contested the election, the race was largely dominated by Adeleke and Oyebamiji.
