Ingryd Academy, a technology talent outsourcing and training organisation, has announced its strategic partnership with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to invest N3 billion on Tech Talents.

Khadijat Abdulkadir, Managing Director, lngryd Academy, said at a media briefing in Lagos on Tuesday that the partnership was to drive innovation and empower professionals across Africa.

Abdulkadir said that the partnership would address the growing tech gap in Africa.

“The Ingryd Scholarship Program, renowned for offering free training in critical tech skills such as Java, Linux, Cybersecurity and Data Science, has a goal to train 4,000 individuals annually.

“We have forged this collaboration with the LSETF because it is a prominent force in empowering employment opportunities in Lagos State.

“The partnership aims at providing aspiring tech professionals with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving tech landscape,” Abdulkadir said.

She said that it envisioned a future where Africa’s tech talents would rise to their full potential in its partnership with the LSETF.

She emphasized that the program also envisioned driving innovation, and propelling the continent to the forefront of the global tech landscape.

‘’Together, we are not just closing the tech talent gap; we’re opening doors to endless possibilities, empowering aspiring tech professionals, and shaping a brighter, more innovative Africa.

“The scholarship program is about responding to the global economic crisis as technology is transcending communities to digital worlds,” she added.

Abdulkadir said that human capacity could be turned to capital, adding that this was the focus of the academy to build human capacity that responded to immediate needs.

She noted that the program’s six-month curriculum included a three-month paid internship, enabling participants to gain practical experience and apply their newly-acquired skills.

According to the managing director, in October, the program will welcome its first cohort of 1,000 participants, followed by three additional cohorts over the next 12 months.

She said that this phased approach would ensure that each participant received a comprehensive and impactful learning experience.

The Director of Programs and Coordination, LSETF, Omolara Adewumi, said that the partnership represented a collaborative effort to address the skills gap in the technology sector.

Adewumi said that the partnership was also to create jobs and empower Lagos residents with valuable skills for a rapidly evolving industry.

She said that it highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships in driving economic development and fostering talent development in the region.

According to her, the Ingryd Scholarship Program with LSETF is more than an educational initiative; it is a beacon of opportunity, offering a transformative learning experience for aspiring tech talent across Africa.

The LSETF director said: “Together, we are building a brighter, more innovative future for the continent’s tech industry.”
