The programmes will be led by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Khalil Suleiman Halilu, as part of efforts to promote innovation, renewable energy adoption, entrepreneurship and STEM education across the country.
According to the agency, the initiatives are designed to strengthen local capacity, create employment opportunities and support inclusive economic growth.
The first event, the closing ceremony of the NASENI She-Powers Energy Initiative, is scheduled to hold on Thursday, June 25, 2026, in Kano State.
The programme trained 50 women from Kumbotso and Tarauni Local Government Areas in solar installation, maintenance, renewable energy systems and enterprise development.
The agency said the training was aimed at preparing beneficiaries to participate in the growing clean energy economy and become self-reliant through technical and entrepreneurial skills.
It added that participants underwent intensive practical sessions designed to enhance their capacity and create income-generating opportunities within their communities.
NASENI will also flag off its skill acquisition training programme on Saturday, June 27, 2026, also in Kano.
The programme will cover solar installation and maintenance, welding and metal fabrication, mobile phone hardware repairs, as well as dry food processing and packaging.
The initiative will also include the distribution of laptops and STEM innovation kits to selected schools to support science and technology education.
The Deputy Governor of Kano State is expected as Special Guest of Honour at the flag-off ceremony, while the NASENI boss will serve as Chief Host.
The agency said the interventions reflect its mandate to leverage science, engineering and innovation to improve livelihoods, empower communities and drive Nigeria’s industrial development.
