    Aregbesola Loses Polling Unit to APC in Osun Governorship Election

    The National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, Rauf Aregbesola, has lost his polling unit in Ifofin Ward 8, Unit 1, Ilesa East Local Government Area, to the All Progressives Congress in the ongoing Osun governorship election.

    Aregbesola cast his vote at the polling unit on Saturday afternoon as voters turned out in large numbers for the election, which was largely peaceful.

    According to results obtained from the polling unit, the APC secured 256 votes, while Aregbesola’s ADC polled 13 votes.

    The Accord Party came third at the unit with 43 votes.

    In another polling unit, Accord recorded a victory at Ward 1, Unit 2, Ibokun NUD Primary School, Obokun Local Government Area, where PDP National Treasurer, Diran Odeyemi, voted.

    Accord polled 211 votes at the unit, defeating the APC, which recorded 178 votes.

    The results form part of the figures emerging as the Independent National Electoral Commission continues the collation of results across Osun State.

    At the time of filing the report, collation was still ongoing at various centres across the state.
