    Paris 2024: Tobi Amusan wins women’s 100m hurdles, makes semifinals

    Nigeria’s track and field athlete, Tobi Amusan, has begun her quest for a medal at the Paris Olympics by finishing in first place in the women’s 100m hurdles heat race.

    The World record holder dominated the entire field, running a solid 12.49s despite being seeded in lane 9, according to makingofchamps.com.

    Alysha Johnson was 2nd in 12.61s while Janeek Brown placed 3rd with a time of 12.84s.

    Amusan is now through to the semi-finals of women’s 100m hurdles.

    The Nigeria’s track and field athlete, who made her Olympics debut in Tokyo three years ago, is the current world holder in the women’s 100-meter hurdles with a time of 12:12 seconds.

    She set the record at the 2022 World’s Athletics Champions in Eugene, Oregun.
