    Popular Sports Broadcaster Temisan Okomi Dies After Brief Illness

    Popular Nigerian on-air personality and sports broadcaster, Temisan Okomi, is dead.

    Okomi, who worked with Classic FM for over 12 years, reportedly died after a brief illness.

    The radio station confirmed his passing in a statement shared on its official social media platforms on Friday.

    “With the heaviest of hearts, we regret to announce the passing of one of our staff, Temisan Okomi, following a brief illness.

    “Until his passing, Temisan was the Group Head of the Sports Department. He was a valued member of our team whose contributions and presence will be deeply missed.

    “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this most difficult time,” the statement read.

    Okomi was widely respected in the sports broadcasting space and was known for his insightful analysis and engaging on-air presence.

    He was a graduate of Agronomy and Crop Science from the University of Uyo before venturing into journalism.

    He is survived by his wife, Veronica, and three sons.
