The company’s total subscriber base surged to 85.4 million, reflecting an 11.0% growth, while active data users hit 51.1 million, a 12.8% increase, proving that the demand for connectivity remains insatiable.

This robust growth trajectory, driven by robust demand and price adjustments, aligns directly with the Federal Government’s aspirations for a comprehensive digital transformation.

The latest figures highlight a solid commercial and strategic momentum, with Data revenue exploding by 73.2% to N1.98 trillion and underpinning a 57.5% jump in Service Revenue to N3.7 trillion.

This success is the fruit of sustained investments, with capital expenditure (excluding leases) soaring by 248.0% to N757.4 billion. This massive outlay is crucial for capacity expansion and improving the quality of service for the burgeoning customer base.

Underscoring the company’s commitment to local content and talent, MTN noted its operations are led by Nigerians, with over 45% female leadership, guided by a strategy focused on digital and financial inclusion.

As Tobe Okigbo, Chief Corporate Services & Sustainability Officer, stated in a recently released video: “We are driving digital and financial inclusion, supporting our communities and national priorities as captured in the core pillars of our Ambition Beyond 2025”.

The company’s digital leadership extends to infrastructure. MTN confirmed it is the first telco to achieve over 82% 4G population coverage, giving access to over 119 million people, and the first to roll out 5G in Nigeria, already reaching an estimated 15 million of the population.

The Home Broadband segment, with solutions like Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA) and Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH), is gaining strong traction, expanding to 4 million subscribers.

Beyond connectivity, MTN stands as a monumental fiscal partner to the government. The company’s video highlights that it has paid over ₦6.9 trillion in taxes, levies, and duties contribution to the national treasury.

This financial contribution, coupled with the return to profitability – posting a Profit After Tax (PAT) of ₦750.2 billion – provides the robust backing for sustaining both investment and dividends for its extensive base of shareholders, including Nigerian Pension Funds representing over 10 million contributors.
