    Nigeria’s D’tigers Make History, Beat U.S. in Las Vegas

    Nigeria’s National Men’s Basketball Team D’tigers in the early hours of Sunday defeated the United States Men’s National Team 90-87 in an exhibition game in Las Vegas, United States.

    It is also the first victory for an African team to defeat the basketball superpower, which is also linked to the Olympics.

    Nigeria first met the US team at the 2012 Olympics, where the D’tigers lost 156-73 – a massive 83-point, 110-66 loss when the two sides last met. .

    The Nigerian team, led by head coach Mike Brown, were very competitive in the game, counting eight players with extensive experience in American clubs in the NBA.

    Nigerian Gabe Vincent of the US Miami Heats led the floor for the D’tigers with 21 points, while Kelvin Durant led the floor for the US team with 17 points.
