BREAKING: Sulaiman Aledeh Quits as EBS Managing Director

Sulaiman Aledeh, Managing Director of the Edo Broadcasting Service, has resigned from his position, bringing an end to his tenure at the state-owned broadcasting organisation.

In a resignation letter dated May 30, 2026, Aledeh said his resignation takes immediate effect.

He explained that the decision was taken to enable him focus on the next phase of his professional career as a media practitioner and pursue other endeavours as a private citizen.

The outgoing managing director expressed appreciation to the Governor of Edo State for the opportunity to serve and for the confidence reposed in him during his stewardship of the organisation.

Aledeh described his tenure at EBS as both a privilege and an honour, noting that he was proud to have contributed to the repositioning of the station within Nigeria’s increasingly competitive media landscape.

He also thanked the people of Edo State, both at home and in the diaspora, for their support, trust and engagement throughout his administration.

According to him, the opportunity to strengthen communication between government and citizens through public broadcasting was deeply fulfilling.

The former EBS boss further commended the management and staff of the organisation for their professionalism, resilience and dedication, saying their commitment was instrumental to the achievements recorded during his tenure.

He noted that the collective efforts of the workforce helped advance a shared vision of transforming EBS into a modern, credible and forward-looking public broadcasting institution.

Aledeh expressed confidence in the future of the organisation, stating that EBS would continue to grow and effectively discharge its mandate of serving the people of Edo State.

He also wished the governor, the state government, the people of Edo State and the EBS family continued success in their future endeavours.
