    Former First Lady, Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi is Dead

    Victoria Aguiyi-Ironsi, the wife of Major General Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi, the late Nigerian head of state is dead.

    According to a family sources the former first lady died today, Monday, August 23, 2021 at the ripe age of ninety-seven-years (97).

    She would have been 98 on November 21, 2021.

    Late Victoria’s husband, Aguiyi-Ironsi was the Supreme Commander of the National Military Government for six (6) months before being overthrown and assassinated in the 1966 Nigerian counter-coup.
