According to reports, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Italia S.p.A. filed a criminal complaint in Milan accusing the Nigerian international of failing to meet financial obligations under a leasing agreement.

The dispute reportedly centres on a Mercedes GLE hybrid SUV allegedly acquired by Osimhen in 2023 while he was playing for Italian club Napoli.

The company alleged that the footballer defaulted on multiple instalment payments, resulting in outstanding arrears estimated at about 90,000 euros.

Mercedes-Benz also reportedly claimed that the vehicle was not returned at the expiration of the leasing agreement.

The complaint reportedly categorised the matter as alleged misappropriation.

As of the time of filing this report, neither Osimhen nor his representatives had publicly responded to the allegations.

The development has generated reactions given the player’s earnings profile.

Before his move to Turkish side Galatasaray in 2024, Osimhen reportedly earned about 10 million euros annually while playing in Italy.

His current annual earnings at Galatasaray are reportedly above 18 million euros.

Despite the legal controversy, Osimhen was recently in action for Galatasaray and reportedly scored in a victory over rivals Fenerbahçe.

The striker is widely known for his interest in luxury automobiles and has previously been seen driving high-end vehicles, including customised Mercedes models.
