American Idol Music Supervisor and Husband Found Dead in Los Angeles Mansion

Robin Kaye, a longtime music supervisor for American Idol, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were found shot dead inside their $5 million Encino mansion on Monday, prompting a double homicide investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers responded to a welfare check at the couple’s six-bedroom home on White Oak Avenue around 2:30 p.m. and discovered blood at the entrance. They entered the property by breaking a window and found both victims with fatal gunshot wounds to the head.

The LAPD confirmed that the case is being handled by its Valley Bureau Homicide Division. No motive has been disclosed, though reports indicate that police had previously visited the residence days earlier following an attempted break-in.

Kaye, 70, was celebrated for her work on American Idol, having supervised music for over 15 seasons and earned multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. Her husband, Deluca, was a musician known for his work with artists such as Kid Rock and Molly Hatchet.

In a statement, American Idol described Kaye as “a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009,” expressing deep sorrow over the couple’s tragic deaths.
