    House of reps members pass bill to revert to old national anthem

    Members of the House of Representatives have passed a bill that will make Nigerians revert to the old National Anthem, “Nigeria we hail thee.”

    The bill sponsored by the Majority Leader of the House, Prof Julius Ihonbvere, underwent an accelerated consideration on the floor of the House before passage.

    The bill which was passed despite oppositions by the Minority Leader of the House, Kingsley Chinda and some other lawmakers, will now be sent to the Senate for concurrence before being sent to the president for assent.
