Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have recovered a large cache of suspected stolen electronic devices during a routine patrol in the Ikeja area of the state.

The recovery followed the interception of two fleeing suspects who abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags near Allen Roundabout, Ikeja, upon sighting the patrol team.

In a statement issued by the command on Monday, the RRS disclosed that the bags contained 32 iPhones of various models, 38 other smartphones including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor brands, five laptops, several smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, and a Sorapad.

A number of damaged phones were also found among the items.

Commander of the RRS, CSP Shola Jejeloye, said preliminary investigations indicated that the items were stolen property hurriedly abandoned by the suspects to evade arrest.

Jejeloye urged members of the public who may have lost similar devices in Ikeja and its environs to visit the RRS Headquarters in Alausa with verifiable proof of ownership for proper identification and possible reclaim.

He reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property across Lagos State, while warning criminal elements to desist from unlawful acts or face the full weight of the law.
