    Police arrest 43-year-old man for killing his wife in Yobe

    Yobe State Police Command Force has arrested Force has arrested a 43-year-old suspect, Abubakar Musa, in connection with the murder of his wife, Ammi Mamman, in Damaturu.

    Spokesman of the Command, Dungus Abdulkarim, who disclosed this in a statement the incident occurred at New Bra-Bra Estate at about 4:48 am on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

    Abdulkarim said the suspect was in the same bed as the wife when she was stabbed with an object on her neck resulting to heavy bleeding that led to her death.

    He said that the man was being interrogated by police detectives to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death.

    According to him, the matter was reported at the C Divisional Police Headquarters, Damaturu, and it’s currently being interrogated by the CID and homicide unit of the command.

    Meanwhile, a resident of the area who pleaded for anonymity told newsmen that the suspect, after committing the crime, rushed to call his neighbour for assistance.

    “After he committed the crime, he rushed to tell his neighbour that his wife was bleeding. So, they got an ambulance and conveyed her to the hospital, where she was confirmed dead,” he said.
