National grid collapses again, Nigerians plunged into darkness

ELECTRIC

There’s darkness in the country as the national electricity grid, centrally managed from Osogbo, Osun State, collapsed at approximately 4:30 pm on Thursday, March 28.

Following the incident, various distribution companies spanning the nation’s 36 states disclosed that their feeders were rendered inactive, resulting in widespread blackouts across the country.

While the grid output was 2984 megawatts as at 4pm, the 21 plants on the grid had zero output as of 5pm. This marks the fourth time the grid has collapsed this year.
