Telecommunications operator, MTN Nigeria, says it has restored network services following disruptions that affected subscribers in Lagos, Oyo, Rivers and Delta states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, RaveNewsOnline reports.
The company disclosed this in a notice issued at the weekend, apologising to customers for the inconvenience caused by the outages.
MTN attributed the disruption to technical issues, which it said had been resolved, adding that it remained committed to improving its infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery.
“We know how important it is to stay in touch with people, businesses, and moments that matter most.
“While our teams worked tirelessly to restore service as quickly as possible, we sincerely wish this disruption had not happened,” the company said.
The notice was signed by Ugonma Nwoye, MTN’s Chief Customer Relations and Experience Officer.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to providing reliable connectivity, saying customers’ trust remained important to its operations.
In an earlier notice, MTN said it had deployed engineers to affected locations to resolve the technical problems.
It also advised subscribers still experiencing connectivity challenges to restart their devices to reconnect to the network.
The disruptions, which lasted about two days, affected voice calls, mobile data and digital financial transactions, leaving subscribers in the affected locations unable to access some telecommunications services.
Lagos, one of Nigeria’s major commercial centres, was among the areas worst affected by the outages.
According to data from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), MTN had 100.5 million subscribers in Nigeria as of July 2026.
The company said it would continue to strengthen its network infrastructure to minimise the likelihood of similar disruptions and improve customers’ experience.
