Manchester City sign kit deal worth reported £1 billion

    MANCHESTER CITY

Manchester City have signed a record-breaking kit deal with German sportswear giant Puma, reportedly worth £1 billion ($1.34 billion) over the next decade.

The agreement, which extends their existing partnership, is now the most lucrative kit manufacturing contract in Premier League history.

Initially signed in 2019 at £65 million per year, the renewed deal is believed to increase that figure to £100 million annually until 2035. This surpasses Manchester United’s £90 million-per-year agreement with Adidas, signed in 2023.

City’s commercial breakthrough puts them on par with European heavyweights Real Madrid and Barcelona, both of whom reportedly have kit contracts exceeding £100 million per year.

“We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons,” said Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group. “Puma have seamlessly integrated into our organisation, and we have enjoyed many historic moments together, engaging fans globally.”

Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld described the collaboration as “a great success both on and off the pitch,” citing the partnership’s alignment with City’s on-field dominance and global commercial growth.

The announcement comes at a transitional moment for the club, following a rare trophyless season. Under Pep Guardiola, City finished third in the Premier League, ending a run of four consecutive title wins, while also losing the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace and exiting the Club World Cup in the last 16 against Al-Hilal.
