    Lagos State Police Command operatives arrested 35-year-old Modupeola Bamisade for allegedly defrauding over 100 victims of more than N500 million through fake online sales of iPhones, iPads, and Apple products advertised at 50 percent discounts.

    The suspect enlisted social media influencers to promote her sham deals, luring buyers who paid upfront but received excuses, delays, or no delivery whatsoever, a police source disclosed to newsmen on January 7, 2026.

    During interrogation, Bamisade admitted deploying influencers to attract clients online, with her arrest triggered by one promoter who grew suspicious after customer complaints flooded in.

    Victims, including one who lost N1 million after fake rider calls and delivery tales, thronged the command to identify her following the arrest.
