Just In: Terrorists Threaten to Kill 176 Abductees in Kwara Community

Bandits invade Kaduna Primary school, shoot pupil and abduct dozens

The terrorists who abducted the 176 people in Woro community, Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, have threatened to kill the captives if the Federal Government does not yield to their demands within the next one week.

The traditional ruler of the community, Salihu Bio, whose wife is also in captivity, confirmed the threat in a telephone conversation with our correspondent. He said the abductees relayed the message after a Jumu’ah prayer session with their captors on Friday.

He said the terrorists expressed frustration over what they described as the government’s lack of seriousness in negotiating the release of the victims, despite the resources being spent to keep them alive.

The terrorists, he added, allowed one of the abductees to call her family on Saturday, and she confirmed that they were all fine and that the Boko Haram members had been teaching them Arabic and Islamic knowledge.

She said that after the Jumu’ah prayer on Friday, the terrorists told them clearly that the government was not taking the matter seriously and that they would marry the women off after a week and kill the weaker ones.
