The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has advised candidates with pending admission offers to log into its Central Admissions Processing System and immediately accept or reject the offers.
The directive was contained in a video explainer shared on JAMB’s official social media platforms on Friday, as preparations for admissions into the 2026/2027 academic session gather momentum.
The board urged candidates to regularly check their admission status and take prompt action whenever an offer is displayed on their profiles.
According to JAMB, candidates can check their admission status by logging into their JAMB e-Facility accounts, selecting “Admission Status” and accessing the Central Admissions Processing System, popularly known as CAPS.
“If you have an admission offer, accept or reject the offer with immediate effect,” the board stated in the video.
JAMB also warned candidates against delaying action or assuming that their admission status had not changed without checking their CAPS profiles.
How to Check Admission Status on JAMB CAPS
Candidates seeking to confirm whether they have received an admission offer should:
- Log into their JAMB e-Facility account.
- Click on “Admission Status.”
- Access the Central Admissions Processing System.
- Check whether an admission offer has been made.
- If an offer is available, select either “Accept Admission” or “Reject Admission.”
The board advised candidates who receive admission offers to act immediately to avoid missing out on the opportunity.
JAMB Introduces Home O’Level Result Verification
The latest directive comes days after JAMB announced a new arrangement allowing candidates to verify and upload their O’level results from home without visiting a Computer-Based Test centre.
The initiative was announced by JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin, in a statement shared on X on Monday.
Benjamin said the board had begun facilitating direct verification of candidates’ O’level results with the examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations, starting with the West African Examinations Council.
Under the new arrangement, candidates can upload their O’level results from home while JAMB verifies the information directly with the relevant examination bodies.
The board said the initiative was designed to provide candidates with a more convenient alternative, particularly during periods of heavy patronage and network challenges at CBT centres.
JAMB therefore encouraged candidates to make use of the available online platforms, regularly monitor their CAPS profiles and promptly respond to any admission offers displayed on their dashboards.
