JAMB Introduces 2 Additional Subjects to UTME

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has introduced Computer Studies and Physical and Health Education as part of its UTME subjects.

The board revealed this in its weekly bulletin published by the Director of Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, and made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday.

He said candidates applying to UTME can now choose either Computer Studies or Physical and Health Education as part of UTME’s four required subjects, if they so choose or as dictated by their program preferences.

The board said that the addition of the two themes to the existing 23 UTME themes would start from the 2022 UTME exercise.

According to the board, the move is to improve the career prospects of students transitioning to tertiary institutions.

Nigerian news agency NAN reports that with the addition, there are now 25 UTME topics for candidates to write on.

Others are: Agricultural Sciences, Arabic, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Christian Religious Studies, Commerce, Economics, French, Geography, Government, Hausa, History, and Home Economics.

Others are: Igbo, Islamic Studies, English Literature, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Accounting Principles, Use of English, and Yoruba.
