Trump

US President Donald Trump addressed the public on Wednesday, November 4, following the midterm elections from the newly constructed White House ballroom, where his Republican party lost both houses of Congress.

While his initial remarks focused heavily on the construction project, the President subsequently answered questions from reporters regarding the electoral fallout.

Addressing comments made by Vice President JD Vance attributing the sweeping Republican losses to the ongoing war with Iran, Trump acknowledged that the assessment was “largely true,” while focusing on the resulting spike in gas prices.

“It’s largely true,” Trump acknowledged when asked about the impact of the war.

Regarding speculation surrounding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump stated that he is not considering removing him, asserting that Hegseth has done a “very good job.”

“He’s done a very good job,” Trump said regarding Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

On relations with the opposition, the President expressed that he was open to working with Democrats, as long as they are not “destructive.” He added that he retained veto power to block their legislation.
