See Why DSS Arrested General Idris Dambazau

General Idris Bello Dambazau (Rtd. ), Managing Director of Kano state’s Consumer Protection Council (KCPC), has been arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) on charges of economic sabotage.

Ravenewsonline.com reports that Dambazau was arrested, for reportedly closing seven fueling stations in the state capital, an action the secret police described as unilateral and unconstitutional.

It was learned that he will be charged in court on Monday.

Dambazau was arrested on Sunday, according to a top officer in the DSS’s Kano state headquarters, after futile attempts to open the filling stations.

“It happened the day before yesterday.” “Under the pretext of being the head of the Consumer Protection Council, he went and sealed seven filling stations, which is illegal under the Constitution,” the official said.

Dambazau was contacted, and it was learned that he did not alert the DPR, he said.

“No agency, organization, or ministry may seal a filling station until the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) issues directions, and he did not get any from security agencies,” the insider continued.

According to the security source, Dambazau has been locking businesses in many markets throughout the metropolis.

“We tried to contact him, but he didn’t respond. He was apprehended this morning, and all of the gas stations were opened.

“We are prosecuting him with economic sabotage in violation of the Federal Republic of Nigeria’s Constitution.”

“His act constitutes economic sabotage, and he will face charges in court tomorrow (Monday).”

In September 2021,Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje appointed General Dambazau (Rtd) as the council’s MD.
