    In a Sunday X post, the pontiff expressed “sorrow and concern” for victims of violence and terrorism, offering prayers while urging authorities to ensure every citizen’s safety with determination.

    The assault saw shops and a traditional ruler’s home torched, forcing wounded survivors into bushes after the military targeted “terrorist elements” in Kaiama LGA.

    Official tallies list 75 dead, though locals claim over 200 as recovery continues; President Tinubu deployed troops, VP Shettima visited Ilorin, amid UN, US and Türkiye condemnations.
