Jigawa State Police Command has announced that enforcement of tinted glass permits will begin across Nigeria on October 2, 2025.

This was disclosed Saturday, September 20, in Dutse by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Shi’isu Adam.

Adam explained that online registration and application for the permits is already ongoing. He urged motorists to follow the outlined procedure on possap.gov.ng for a seamless process.

He added that applicants are required to create an account using their NIN, BVN, or TIN, verify their account via email, then log in to select the “Tinted Glass Permit” service and upload vehicle details with supporting documents.

“Applicants must carefully confirm all details before submitting their requests and making payments as directed on the portal,” SP Adam said.

He added that once applications are submitted, vehicle inspection and fingerprint biometric capturing will be scheduled at designated Police Intelligence Departments.

For Jigawa applicants, he confirmed that biometric capturing would be done free of charge at the State Intelligence Department, Police Headquarters, Dutse.

Adam also cautioned against dealing with middlemen or unauthorised persons seeking to exploit applicants.

“This initiative promotes transparency and ensures road safety for all,” the PPRO said.

He called for full public cooperation to ensure smooth enforcement and enhance road safety, while also warning that non-compliance could have legal consequences.

“Those planning to apply are advised to begin registration promptly ahead of the enforcement date,” SP Adam stated.
