Adeyemi was arrested on Wednesday shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, issued a warrant for his arrest over his failure to appear in court.

He was expected to take his plea on an eight-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation linked to the activities of the alleged fake PFIPC.

The case, which was listed before the court sitting in the Maitama area of Abuja, could not proceed after the defendant was absent.

Following his non-appearance, Justice Umar ordered relevant authorities to ensure his arrest and production before the court.

The PFIPC had earlier attracted public attention after the Presidency reportedly denied knowledge of the organisation and disassociated the Federal Government from its activities.

Adeyemi had reportedly claimed leadership of the council, which allegedly presented itself as an official government-backed initiative.

The charges against him are expected to be heard when he is brought before the court for arraignment.
