Applications for the second edition of the MTN Media Innovation Programme (MTN-MIP) are closed, and applicants can soon expect to receive feedback on whether they will join the 2023 cohorts.
The Pan-Atlantic University faculty doubled down to scrutinise each of the 2000-plus applications. After extensive consideration, over 250 applicants were chosen to write an essay from which the final 20 fellows will be selected.
The fully-funded MTN Media Innovation Programme is a six-month certificate fellowship that will kick off on May 15, 2023, at the Main Campus of Pan-Atlantic University, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
The programme includes a study visit to the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, a tour of the MTN Group Head office in Sandton, and an innovation hub to incubate ideas. Through the Fellowship, participants will learn to uphold the highest intellectual, ethical, and professional values that promote creativity, critical knowledge, technical perfection, and the spirit of enterprise.
Speaking on the impact of the programme’s first edition, Mike Okwoche, the Senior Anchor of TVC News, said, “The MTN MIP has been an expository 6-Months of really knowing what we thought we knew. I know what 5G, Metaverse, IOTs, Blockchain, etc., are, courtesy of this program. It is clearer to me what the future of media is concerning emerging technology.”
Also speaking to critical takeaways of the program, Damilola Fajinmi, a Broadcaster and Radio programming expert, said, “MTN MIP was a major career boost for my skills and improved my deliverables ten times post my fellowship year. I am happy to have been exposed to the robust faculty at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria, and MTN Nigeria.
