Oyo seals commercial banks, telecom masts over non-payment of tax

Oyo State Government announced on Tuesday that it has sealed some commercial banks and telecommunications masts in Ibadan, the state capital.

The government claimed that it sealed off the premises due to non-compliance with the payment of revenue into the state’s coffers.

It added that the enforcement team of the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, led by the Director, Land Use Charge, Olufisayo Ogunbiyi, sealed the premises during an enforcement tour of the city.

Ogunbiyi, in the statement made available to DAILY POST, noted that the commercial banks and the telecommunications outfits had been served notices before the enforcement team visited them.

He stressed that the state government has zero tolerance for noncompliance with its policies.
