Chippa United announced the 29-year-old’s departure in a Thursday statement, confirming they accepted his formal request despite a three-year extension signed in 2024.
The club praised Nwabali’s service: “We would like to sincerely thank Stanley Nwabali for the years of service, commitment, and professionalism… his contribution to the club will always be appreciated, and we wish him success in the next chapter of his career.”
On Instagram, Nwabali bid farewell emotionally: “I leave with a heart full of gratitude… this isn’t just a farewell; it’s an appreciation for every moment you’ve given me.”
Nwabali joined from Katsina United in 2022, featuring in 76 matches with 25 clean sheets, and starred in Nigeria’s third-place AFCON 2025 finish.
