NIMC Refutes Claims of Blocking Police Commission from Verification Server Access

    NIMC

National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has refuted claims that it denied the Police Service Commission (PSC) access to its verification server, affirming that all its verification service platforms remain fully operational and accessible to authorized partners, including security agencies.

In a statement issued on Thursday, June 5, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, NIMC’s Head of Corporate Communications, described reports of the PSC’s alleged inability to access the verification server as “misleading and inaccurate.”

He attributed any difficulties the PSC may be experiencing to internal issues within the commission, not from NIMC.

“To set the record straight, the NIMC granted verification access to all Nigerian Police formations for the verification of the National Identification Number (NIN),” the statement read. “The NPF, PSC, and other security agencies have been enjoying uninterrupted verification services for over five years.”

The Commission emphasized its role in supporting recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), noting that it has consistently provided verification services without any reported complaints from either the NPF or PSC.

According to the statement, the Information Communications and Technology department of the NPF actively manages the integration and verification service between the NIMC and all Nigerian Police formations.

NIMC also reaffirmed its commitment to delivering verification support for national security operations, including recruitment, cybercrime control, and security mapping. The Commission added that its service framework was recently restructured for standardization in consultation with the Office of the National Security Adviser.

“NIMC is committed to providing excellent verification services to the PSC, NPF, and all its partners, but the terms and conditions inherent must be adhered to for uninterrupted flow of service,” the statement concluded.
