Names, Photos Released as US Immigration Flags 10 More Nigerians in Deportation Crackdow

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has published the names and photographs of 10 more Nigerians on its “worst of the worst” register of suspected criminal offenders.

The names and photographs were published on the website of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as the Donald Trump administration continues its immigration enforcement and deportation campaign.

DHS said the initiative was part of efforts to fulfil President Trump’s pledge to pursue mass deportations, beginning with individuals the government considers serious criminal offenders.

“The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is highlighting the worst of the worst criminal aliens arrested by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE),” the department said.

It added that personnel of DHS and ICE were carrying out the administration’s deportation policy, beginning with individuals listed as serious criminal offenders.

The register, which is updated periodically, contains the names and photographs of foreign nationals from several countries facing various criminal allegations or immigration proceedings.

The 10 Nigerians recently added to the register include Temitope Bashiru, who is listed over allegations of wire fraud, identity theft and fraud.

Ojehoro Lewis is listed over an allegation of cruelty towards a child, while Osemudiamen Kingsley Oziegbe is listed over an alleged wire fraud offence.

Daniel Oworen is listed over an alleged dangerous drugs offence, while Raymond H. Ekevwo is accused of alleged wire fraud.

Franklin Dikeocha is listed over an alleged sexual offence against a child involving fondling, while Johnson Ogunlana is listed over allegations of fraud and identity theft.

Chukwuemeka Okorocha is facing allegations including wire fraud, dangerous drugs, possession of a weapon and aggravated assault.

Tunde Korede is listed over an alleged conspiracy offence, while Chukwuemeka Chineye is listed over allegations of fraud involving a banking-type institution, larceny, identity theft and conspiracy.

The DHS did not provide a specific date for the deportation of the individuals to Nigeria or their respective countries of origin.

The latest update follows previous additions of Nigerian nationals to the register.

In February, ICE published the names and photographs of 79 Nigerians on the list, while the number of Nigerians listed reportedly rose to 124 in July.

The publication of names on the ICE register does not, by itself, establish guilt, and the individuals remain subject to applicable criminal and immigration processes.

The latest development comes amid the Trump administration’s continued enforcement of its immigration and deportation policies.
