MTN Foundation has announced that the 2025 edition of its annual Scholarship Award Ceremony and Alumni Induction will take place on Wednesday, October 29, with simultaneous events in Enugu and Lagos, and a concluding ceremony in Abuja on Thursday, November 6.
The event will celebrate outstanding students newly admitted into the MTN Scholarship Scheme and formally induct graduating scholars into the MTN Scholarship Alumni community, a growing network of young professionals contributing to national development.
Since its inception, the MTN Foundation Scholarship Programme has served as a symbol of MTN Nigeria’s commitment to youth empowerment, academic excellence, and human capital development.
Each scholar receives an annual grant of ₦300,000, renewable throughout their course of study, subject to meeting renewal criteria.
To date, the programme has awarded more than 14,728 scholarships, representing an investment of over ₦3 billion in Nigeria’s tertiary education sector.
This year’s ceremony will spotlight the achievements of both new and existing scholars, while also celebrating the expansion of the MTN Scholarship Alumni community.
The induction marks a significant milestone for graduating scholars, connecting them to a broader ecosystem of peers, mentors, and professional opportunities.
Speaking ahead of the event, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Mrs. Odunayo Sanya, emphasized the Foundation’s commitment to inclusive education and national development.
“Education is the backbone of national development, and at MTN Foundation, we are committed to ensuring that no bright mind is left behind due to financial constraints,” she said.
“This scholarship is not just about funding education; it is about investing in Nigeria’s future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.”
The MTN Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to building a pipeline of future leaders and innovators, playing a pivotal role in shaping Nigeria’s knowledge economy and empowering the next generation to thrive in a competitive global landscape.
