Nigerian military has arrested 15 more officers in connection with an alleged coup plot against the Federal Government, bringing the total number of detained personnel to over 40, according to security sources.
The latest arrests followed revelations made during the interrogation of an initial group of 16 officers taken into custody three weeks ago.
Sources told Vanguard that the detained officers disclosed the roles their newly arrested colleagues were expected to play in the alleged plot.

Investigators have reportedly uncovered financial links to the alleged plot, with funds traced to a suspected network involving a former governor who also served as a minister of state.
The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and other agencies are collaborating on the probe.
The Defence Headquarters had earlier confirmed the arrest of 16 officers for “acts of indiscipline” and violations of service regulations.
