One of Real Madrid’s forwards, Kylian Mbappé, has made it clear that he wants the Ballon d’Or to return to Real Madrid, expressing his desire to give Madridistas another reason to celebrate.

Speaking to Diario AS on Thursday, the French forward said he hopes the prestigious individual award can make its way back to the Santiago Bernabéu.

“I really want the Ballon d’Or to return to Real Madrid,” Mbappé said. “It needs to come back to the Bernabéu, to the Madridistas, to return for all those people and give them something to be excited about. They deserve it more than anyone.”

Mbappé also addressed his own chances of winning the award, suggesting that his performances on the pitch should speak louder than his words.

“In my opinion, this is a good year to win it,” he said. “My feet are my best advocates, more so than anything I might say!”

The comments underline Mbappé’s ambition to establish himself among the world’s elite after joining Real Madrid and competing for the game’s biggest individual honour.

The Frenchman also had words of praise for Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal, acknowledging the teenager’s ability and predicting a bright future for him.

“Lamine Yamal is a very talented player, and I have a feeling he’s going to have a great career,” Mbappé said. “I wish him all the best.”

Despite the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona, Mbappé’s comments reflect his recognition of Yamal’s growing influence in football.

For Mbappé, however, the immediate focus remains clear: helping Real Madrid compete for the biggest trophies while putting himself in contention for the Ballon d’Or.
