    Horror in Calabar: Bolt Driver Stabbed After Refusing to Hand Over His Car to Passengers

    The Cross River State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the killing of a Bolt driver in Calabar after he was allegedly attacked by three unidentified men who attempted to dispossess him of his Toyota Corolla vehicle.

    The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, at about 5:30 a.m., along Target Road in Calabar South Local Government Area of the state.

    According to an eyewitness, the driver picked up the three suspects along Mbukpa Road in Calabar South and was heading towards Calabar Municipality when they allegedly ordered him to stop and hand over the key to his vehicle.

    The driver reportedly resisted the demand, following which the assailants allegedly stabbed him.

    Despite sustaining severe injuries, the victim was said to have managed to drive into a nearby filling station, with blood covering his body. The suspects subsequently fled the scene.

    Passersby reportedly rushed the driver to a nearby hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

    Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Cross River State Police Command, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, said the command had commenced an investigation into the matter.

    Akata said efforts were underway to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
