The suspects, Timileyin Fakunle, 30, Begun Adedeji, 31, and Olamide Roheemot, 28, were arrested on Friday, January 23, 2026.

The operation, carried out by the Accra Regional Police Command, targeted a syndicate using SIM box equipment to illegally route international calls as local ones, bypassing telecom charges and causing revenue losses to mobile networks.

Police recovered items including SIM box machines capable of handling hundreds of SIM cards, VoIP gateway devices, numerous registered and unregistered SIM cards from Ghanaian networks, laptops, routers, high-gain antennas, and backup power systems.

The crackdown is ongoing, with a manhunt underway for three additional suspects who remain at large: Mike, Kpalumi, and a Chinese national identified as Tomy (believed to be a key financier and provider of the sophisticated hardware).

This arrest is part of intensified efforts by the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with relevant authorities, to combat telecom-related fraud and cyber-enabled crimes in the country.
