    FG withdraws sale of subsidised rice to public servants without any reason

    Federal government has withdrawn the sale of subsidized 50-kilogramme bags of rice for N40,000 each, to public servants.
    This was disclosed in a circular titled, “Withdrawal of internal circular on sale of subsidized rice to public servants.”
    The notice was sent out on August 2, on Day 2 of the “End Bad Governance in Nigeria” nationwide protests.
    The sale of the subsidized rice was announced on August 1, 2024, through the Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs Human Resources Management Department.
    It was the same Ministry that announced the withdrawal.
    No reason was given for the sudden change of action.
