    EFCC Cracks Down on Suspected Online Fraudsters in Abeokuta, 48 in Custody

    Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 48 individuals suspected of engaging in internet-related fraud in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

    In a statement released on Friday, July11, the agency said operatives from its Ibadan Zonal Directorate carried out the arrests following surveillance and actionable intelligence linking the suspects to online fraudulent activities.

    During the operation, officials recovered various items, including a pump-action rifle, five luxury vehicles, a motorbike, numerous mobile phones, laptop computers, and documents described as incriminating.

    EFCC arrests 48 suspected internet fraudsters in Abeokuta

    The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
