    BREAKING: EFCC Arrests Former Anambra Governor Chris Ngige in Abuja

    Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, has been arrested in Abuja by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

    Reports indicate that Ngige was picked up from his residence on Justice Mohammed Bello Road, Asokoro, by armed EFCC operatives.

    Earlier claims suggested that the former governor had been kidnapped, but his media aide, Mr. Fred Chukwuelobe, clarified that Ngige was in EFCC custody.

    “Former Governor of Anambra State and immediate past minister of labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, is with the EFCC. More details later,” Chukwuelobe said.

    The EFCC has not yet issued an official statement, leaving the reason for the arrest undisclosed at the time of filing this report.

    The development comes days after Ngige’s convoy was attacked in Anambra State by armed men. A police officer was shot during the ambush, while several others sustained injuries. Ngige was not present in the vehicle during the attack.
