Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a public warning against Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed operative accused of impersonating the agency to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

In a notice released on Sunday, the DSS stated that Godwin had been engaging in “unscrupulous activities,” including falsely invoking the name of the Service to swindle members of the public.

“The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby alerts members of the public of the activities of one Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a dismissed staff,” the statement read.

“He is reportedly engaging in unscrupulous activities, including using the name of the Service to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.”

The DSS urged citizens to avoid any dealings with Godwin and to verify all claims of affiliation with the Service directly. For complaints or inquiries, the DSS provided the following contact details:

    – Phone: 09088373515
    – Email: [email protected]

This advisory follows a similar alert issued last week concerning Barry Donald, another dismissed officer accused of exploiting the DSS name for fraudulent purposes.

Authorities are calling for increased vigilance and encouraging the public to report any suspicious activity involving individuals claiming ties to the DSS.
