Cristiano Ronaldo breaks YouTube record, reaches 10 million subscribers in 12 hours 

Cristiano Ronaldo joined YouTube on Wednesday , August 21 and dropped a series of videos, and within hours has already surpassed a previous record set by american YouTuber, Mr Beast, who has the highest following on YouTube.

The 39-year-old Portuguese football great garnered over 10 million subscribers within 12 hours surpassing MrBeast, who took 132 days to reach the summit of 10 million subscriptions.

With 311 million subscribers, MrBeast is the most followed channel on YouTube, recently beating T-Series, which boasts 272 million subscribers, followed by Cocomelon-Nursery Rhymes, which has about 180 million subs.

Ronaldo, who currently plays for the Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr as a forward and captain, joined the platform on July 8 but his first upload was on August 21, 2024. At the time of press, Ronaldo has surpassed 15 million subscriptions.

The Portuguese soccer cap shared a video on his channel unboxing the YouTube golden button, much to the delight of his family. Ronaldo’s channel earned the YouTube memento by becoming the fastest in history to garner 1 million subscribers.

The footballer is also the most followed individual on Meta’s Instagram, with 636 million followers.

However, Instagram’s brand account comes next with 626 million followers.

His soccer comrade and Argentina star, Lionel Messi is next on IG with 504 million followers. Selena Gomez, with a follower count of 425 million, comes next.
