    Anambra’s Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, Set to Represent Nation in Bangkok

    In a dazzling display of grace, intellect, and cultural pride, Onyinyechi Basil from Anambra State emerged victorious at the grand finale of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 pageant, held at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

    The event, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, marked the third edition of the prestigious national competition. Out of 22 contestants unveiled on August 26, the field was narrowed to a top 10, then to five finalists: Miss Ogun, Miss Lagos, Miss Akwa Ibom, Miss Bayelsa, and Miss Anambra.

    Basil captivated judges and audiences alike across multiple segments, including swimwear, traditional costume, evening wear, and a high-stakes question-and-answer round. Her poise and eloquence earned her the coveted crown, along with a suite of prizes including a cash award, brand endorsements, training opportunities, and paid appearances.

    As the newly crowned queen, Basil will represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant scheduled for November 20 in Bangkok, Thailand, where she will compete on the global stage.

    Other notable winners included:

    • First Runner-Up: Damilola Bolarinde (Miss Lagos)
    • Second Runner-Up: Fortune Kurobo (Miss Bayelsa)
    • Third Runner-Up: Irene Ikediashi (Miss Ogun)
    • Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025: Idah Eno (Miss Akwa Ibom)

    The evening was not only a celebration of beauty but also a showcase of Nigeria’s rich cultural diversity and the rising influence of young women in shaping the nation’s global image.

    With her win, Onyinyechi Basil joins a growing list of Nigerian women making waves in international pageantry, and her journey to Bangkok promises to be one of pride, purpose, and representation.
