Shehu Sani Reacts to Peter Obi’s Appearance at Seyi Makinde’s Campaign Office

Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has reacted to the appearance of Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate Peter Obi at the inauguration of the campaign office of his Allied Peoples Movement counterpart, Seyi Makinde.

Sani described Obi’s attendance as an unusual political gesture, comparing it to a commercial brand promoting a rival product.

In a statement shared on his social media account on Tuesday, Sani wrote: “Peter is selling Pepsi and he is doing promo for Coke.”

Obi attended the official opening of Makinde’s presidential campaign headquarters in Abuja on Monday. The event attracted several prominent political figures, including APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.

Addressing supporters at the event, Mohammed urged political observers not to underestimate the APM or its presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Obi’s presence at the campaign office opening has since generated political reactions, particularly because he is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress while Makinde is contesting under the APM.

The development has added another layer to the growing political alignments and discussions ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
