Ecobank Nigeria, in partnership with Verve, has launched InnovateX 2026, a youth innovation challenge offering N20 million in prizes, mentorship and business development support.
The initiative targets young Nigerians aged 16 to 25, particularly students, innovators, entrepreneurs and creatives developing solutions in inclusive finance and the creative economy.
According to the organisers, the competition is designed to identify and support the next generation of innovators across technology, engineering, science, product design, content creation, digital media, entertainment, fashion and other creative disciplines.
Participants will undergo an intensive innovation programme featuring hybrid bootcamps, expert-led workshops, mentorship sessions and networking opportunities.
The programme will culminate in a grand finale pitch competition before a panel of industry leaders and investors.
Speaking on the initiative, Mr Victor Yalokwu, Head of Products and Analytics, Ecobank Nigeria, said the country was blessed with abundant young talent, creativity and entrepreneurial energy.
“Through InnovateX, we are providing a platform for young people to transform bold ideas into impactful solutions and sustainable businesses.
“We encourage students, innovators, tech enthusiasts, creators and entrepreneurs across the country to seize this opportunity and take their ambitions to the next level,” he said.
Yalokwu said the future belonged to young people willing to innovate, solve problems and create value.
He added that InnovateX was structured to equip participants with the knowledge, mentorship, exposure and resources required to succeed in a technology-driven market.
“Whether you are developing a tech solution, building a creative brand, or working on an innovation that can improve lives, InnovateX provides a valuable platform to showcase your potential and accelerate your journey towards success,” he said.
The bank said the initiative formed part of its youth empowerment strategy, adding that it continued to provide tailored financial services through its Blaze Account.
It described the account as a youth-focused product that offers access to exclusive opportunities, debit cards, zero-cost monthly transfers and participation in developmental initiatives such as InnovateX 2026.
