APC Urged to Give Diaspora 5% Representation in 2027 Campaign Structure

President of the Nigerian Community in Turkey and Chairman of the Tinubu Diaspora Support Group, Prince Emre Margboh, has urged the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reserve at least five per cent of its 2027 presidential campaign structure for credible Diaspora representatives.

Margboh made the call in a statement issued on Friday by his media aide, Acho Righteous, saying the inclusion of credible Diaspora support groups would strengthen and broaden the party’s presidential campaign structure.

While congratulating stakeholders selected for the campaign structure, Margboh urged them to treat their appointments as a responsibility requiring commitment and diligence.

He also commended President Bola Tinubu for directing that the campaign structure should be inclusive and representative of the various interests within the party.

However, he stressed the need for Nigerians living abroad to be adequately represented.

“I also commend Mr. President for directing that the structure should be inclusive and carry everyone along.

“However, the Diaspora must also be carried along. Nigerians abroad are doing so much for this party and for our country. We are appealing to the APC leadership to consider at least five per cent representation for the Diaspora in the campaign structure,” he said.

Margboh described Nigerians in the Diaspora as critical stakeholders in national development and the growth of the APC, citing their contributions through grassroots mobilisation, foreign direct investment, advocacy and humanitarian initiatives.

He argued that incorporating Diaspora leaders into the party’s campaign architecture would expand the APC’s international reach and help mobilise broader global support for the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Margboh also urged APC members in Nigeria and abroad to remain disciplined, promote unity and place the collective interest of the party above personal considerations as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.
