    Lagos NURTW Organising Secretary Toba Ajiboye Dies After Gunmen Attack

    Toba Ajiboye, the Organising Secretary of the Lagos State NURTW Council, who died after a gun attack along Ikorodu Road.

    The Organising Secretary of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State Council, Mr Toba Ajiboye, popularly known as Ijaya, has died following a gun attack by unidentified assailants in Lagos.

    Ajiboye was reportedly attacked on Sunday night while returning home from his childhood community in Fadeyi.

    Sources said the gunmen intercepted his vehicle along the Ikorodu Road corridor and opened fire, riddling the vehicle with bullets.

    According to eyewitness accounts, Ajiboye and other occupants of the vehicle sustained gunshot wounds during the attack and were rushed to a hospital for treatment.

    However, Ajiboye was later confirmed dead from injuries sustained in the incident.

    The motive for the attack was yet to be established as of the time of filing this report.

    Security agencies have not issued an official statement on the incident, while investigations are expected to commence to identify and apprehend those responsible.

    The killing has sparked concern among members of the transport union and residents, who have called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

    Ajiboye was a prominent figure within the Lagos State chapter of the NURTW and was widely known among transport operators across the state.
