Tucker Carlson Apologises for Helping Elect Donald Trump Amid Iran War Backlash

    Tucker Carlson

Appearing on his self-titled show on Monday with his brother Buckley Carlson, a former Trump speechwriter, the host lamented their past support, stating supporters like themselves bear responsibility for current events.

Carlson, who endorsed Trump in the 2024 election, shifted sharply in 2025 against the president’s involvement in Israel’s conflict with Iran, calling Operation Epic Fury—launched February 28, 2026, to destroy Iran’s missiles, navy, and nuclear capabilities—”absolutely disgusting and evil.”

The brothers questioned if Trump’s “low character” signs were overlooked, laughed about leaders “outperforming their character,” and alleged stymied probes into Trump’s 2024 assassination attempts in Butler, Pennsylvania, and at his Florida golf club.

Tucker accused Trump of loyalty only to “neocons and his donors,” breaching promises to avoid “World War III.”

“It’s not enough to say ‘I changed my mind’… we’re the reason this is happening… I’m sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional,” Carlson said, predicting personal torment.

Trump dismissed him: “I don’t know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network so people listen.”

Operation Epic Fury achieved objectives by April 2026, securing a ceasefire and Strait of Hormuz reopening. This rift highlights MAGA divisions on foreign policy.
